January 9, 2018 Tuesday... We or I am going to start as mentioned before a reason or a way to continue to live with a healthy body (hopefully) so far it's got arthritis pretty bad...but with a healthy mind..One of the ways is scrabble, which I play as a member of a scrabble club on Fridays...I belong to two book clubs and now my latest thoughts on this, ie my mind work - is painting...I took up painting many years ago, had a teacher and enjoyed a few sessions, but gave up after a while..
Not sure if I will go for lessons, or just copy paintings or pictures ..but I've bought some acrylic paints and water color paints..brushes..and will buy some water color paper, as my daughter Gaye, the artist, says one can use that paper for both acrylic and water color...So now I've got my partner in crime Harry, into this...we both laugh but we re both going to try. We enjoy movies together, cooking for each other and going out for dinner about once a week, not to mention shop together, etc...so now we are going to paint..
I guess the number one thing will be to plan a day for this I'm thinking Saturdays ...it's not yet how or what..i.e. do we get a teacher, do I follow a plan...maybe I can ask Gaye to give us a little starter or directions ...or maybe I'll just start with water color with what I have done in the past with my class..when I was teaching...start there and move on. will look up art on the internet..who knows might get some ideas.
I am of course going to continue to watch news, follow politics both in Canada and in the U/S/ which at this time in the U.S. is a screwed up mess. Read what Noam Chomsky has to say, I'm wondering about the latest problem re: Israel and the banning of people who are trying to stop investments in Israel as a way to stop Israel from their persecution of Palestine and Palestinians.
Anyway, the painting is a new and happier I hope, interest...we'll see how it goes...
